Meet the Team

Joel Zeisler
Executive Director & Founder
Joel Zeisler manages and oversees all water sports activities. He is a former national waterski champion and has served as the coach of the U.S. Disabled Waterski Team. With over three decades of experience teaching waterskiing, Joel has trained and assisted nearly a dozen organizations across the country in launching their own adaptive waterski programs. Under his guidance, LOF Adaptive Skiers has become a leader in the field of adaptive waterskiing in the United States.

Kathryn Wolf
Recording Secretary
Kathryn has been a corporate buyer for 25 years and currently works at Sonics & Materials Inc., focusing on high-tech ultrasonics. After volunteering at a Wounded Warrior Event with her Girl Scout troop, she and her family became dedicated volunteers. Kathryn has also supported various nonprofits, including Relay for Life, the Girl Scouts of America, the Newtown Junior Women’s Club, NUMC, and the CMAK Foundation. She holds certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid from the American Heart Association.

Grant Beeney
Director
Grant had a 30-year career in the computer software industry, serving as Sales Director for Intuit, Inc. After retiring in 2009, he began volunteering at LOF, where he handles bookkeeping and other tasks. He lives in Southbury, CT with his wife and they have three children and eight grandchildren. Grant is also a Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970.

Chad Goodhue
Director
Chad owns New England Restoration LLC, which focuses on water and fire damage restoration, reconstruction, and consulting. In the summer, he enjoys barefoot water skiing on Lake Zoar, golfing, and helping with the LOF Adaptive Water Skiing program. In winter, Chad competes in downhill racing, having qualified for the national championships in 2014, and plays hockey on two teams in Danbury, CT. He also assists with the LOF winter ski program at Mt. Southington and is studying to become a certified instructor for disabled snow and water skiing.

Peter Anderau
Director
Peter is the President of Germann + Frei North America, the U.S. sales office for Germann And Frei AG in Switzerland. He enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including waterskiing, skiing, backpacking, kayaking, mountain biking, windsurfing (as a certified instructor), sailing, and adventure racing. Beyond his role at LOF, Peter volunteers with the Boy Scouts, Group Workcamps, Trinity Episcopal Church, and the Dorothy Day Hospitality House. He has lived in Sandy Hook for over 20 years with his wife, Cindy, and their two sons, Tom and Steven.

David Wiener
Director
David Wiener is a finance and administration manager for a real estate developer. He moved to Newtown in 2003 with his family and has since volunteered in local sports programs and civic organizations. In 2016, he suffered a serious injury that resulted in the loss of his right leg and left him paralyzed from the waist down. Since then, he has become involved in adaptive sports and has supported causes that assist the handicapped, special needs individuals, and veterans, such as LOF Adaptive Skiers.

David Troy
Director
With over 40 years in marketing and sales, Dave is currently the VP of Sales & Service at REELEX Packaging Solutions in Patterson, NY. As an avid water-skier, wakeboarder, boater, and downhill skier, he wanted to help others experience these activities. Dave’s entire family actively volunteers with LOF. His wife, Allene, works as a pediatric PA at Auerbach Pediatrics in Newtown. Their twins, Kayleigh and Connor, graduated from Newtown High School in 2023 and are currently attending Sacred Heart University and the University of Maryland, respectively. Since moving to Sandy Hook from Bethel in 2008, Dave has been active in the Newtown community. He served on the board of the Newtown Soccer Club and coached his children’s soccer teams for 10 years. He has also been involved in Scouting and coached for the Newtown Basketball Association (NYBA).

Elizabeth Kloczko
Director
Elizabeth is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac University in the Occupational Therapy Department, and currently sits on the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association where she serves as a liaison for the Rehabilitation, Disability and Participation Special Interest Section. Elizabeth was introduced to LOF in the summer of 2013, and has volunteered in many positions (skier, office, grant writer). As a hospital based Occupational Therapist for 12 years, she has introduced some of her patients to LOF. Elizabeth has been involved in Camp No Limits at Quinnipiac, a camp for children with limb loss. One of her proud accomplishments is being a published author for Disabled Sports USA, now Move United, for a research study she completed with students as part of a capstone project, focusing on the benefits that adaptive sports, specifically LOF, provides both physically and psychosocially for participants.

Tim Thomas
Director
Tim has been a Wall Street professional for 34 years, with the last 15 years as an Executive Director of Compliance at JPMorgan. He is celebrating his 10th year of volunteering with LOF, along with his son, after discovering LOF Adaptive Skiers while looking for used ski equipment. In addition to his work with LOF, Tim served eight years on his local Board of Education and contributed to youth sports through the Board of Recreation for Pop Warner Football, Little League, and Cheerleading. He is also the Chairperson for his town’s Athletic Hall of Fame, where past athletes and coaches are inducted every two years. Furthermore, Tim organizes a yearly charity golf tournament that raises funds for an annual scholarship in memory of a loved one.

Scott Poarch
Director
Scott lives in Sandy Hook, CT.

Brian Briggs
Director
Brian grew up boating and waterskiing on Long Island Sound, always loving the water. His wife discovered LOF on Facebook while searching for
activities for their son. In 2019, Brian and his daughter attended volunteer training and began volunteering. Now retired, he drives boats at LOF events and enjoys
skiing whenever another driver is available. Brian is actively involved in the
waterski program and helps out in winter. He regularly participates in LOF events, including offsite programs in Massachusetts, Maine, and
Florida.
During summer, Brian enjoys boating on Candlewood Lake with his family. He also supports his local Scout BSA troop, valuing outdoor time and community service.
